Visits to the Santa María Cathedral and the Ancient Wall

The Abierto por obras (Open for Works) programme takes us on a journey through time. Drawing upon its restoration work, we can get to know its origins (the first Santa María temple, in the Romanesque style and attached to the wall) and the work being carried out to reinforce the current Gothic cathedral in the 21st century.

Visit to the medieval gutters

The gutters are urban spaces of medieval origin which were originally drains for the dirty water from houses. They are currently public spaces located inside the blocks of the Medieval Quarter, salvaged as small botanical gardens.

Visit the gardens and terrace at the Europa Congress Palace

The Europa Congress Palace, Passivhaus XXL building, its vegetal façade and garden terrace, will surprise you, offering views over the green passage of the Avenida Gasteiz. A chance to find out about other aspects of sustainability in unique surroundings.

Visit to the Church of San Vicente - Tower

The Neo-Byzantine tower of the Church of San Vicente was built at the end of the 19th century. This visit grants you access to its stairs so that you can view the wooden latticework above the church naves.

Visit to the Church of San Miguel Arcángel

The Church of San Miguel Arcángel, from the 14th-16th centuries, was built on the hermitage of San Miguel, highlighted as the place where oaths were taken in the 1181 Town Jurisdiction. It is the place of the worship for the Virgen Blanca, patron saint of the city.

Visit to the Villa Suso Palace

The Villa Suso Palace is one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture in Vitoria-Gasteiz. It was built between 1538 and 1541, following the orders of Martín de Salinas, ambassador to the court of Emperor Carlos I.

Visit to the Co-Cathedral of Maria Inmaculada (New Cathedral) - General visit with crypt and terrace

Neo-Gothic in style, the Co-Cathedral of Maria Inmaculada (New Cathedral) is surprising due to its size: the transept is 35 metres high. It is home to the Museum of Sacred Art and, from the terrace on the portico, there are views over the city's four main Gothic towers.

"El caso de los amores proscritos" (The case of the banned lovers) visit

200th anniversary of the Florida Park

A visit to discover La Florida, the most emblematic urban park in Vitoria-Gasteiz. It was designed in 1820 as a botanical garden and has many exotic trees. Its bandstand is also of note, along with the statues of the Gothic Kings and the Secret Garden of the Water, a curious Japanese garden.
