The green façade

The green façadeWithout a doubt the building's most striking feature is the vertical garden covering the whole of the façade. Over 33,000 plants of different local species were used to create the garden. Additionally, the building's large windows are covered in vines that allow sunlight in in winter and protect from excess heat in summer.

The green façadeThere are numerous advantages to this "green" façade including better thermal and acoustic insulation (which has tripled) and an extension of the building's useful life. What is more, the façade helps purify air quality and reduce pollution and global warming. And let's not forget it gives this public building a complete facelift, making it more attractive and unique.
