The river Zadorra, the most important river in the municipality of Vitoria-Gasteiz, is the main feature of this future periurban park. It runs to the north of the city and limits its expansion. With its many natural assets, which have led to its being proposed for inclusion in the European Network of Protected Natural Spaces (Natura 2000 Network), the river Zadorra and its surrounding area are an ideal space for leisure activities and for walking.
The overall development of the river (hydrological, environmental and social-recreational), along the entire stretch where comes into contact with the city, will shortly provide an extensive river park, 13 km in length and covering a surface area 251 hectares, which will constitute a fundamental part of the Green Belt. At present, two sections of the river have already been developed. These are the sections of Atxa-Landaberde and Gamarra.
- Current surface area: 132 ha
- Location: On the northern edge of the city
- Park currently at the project and execution stage
