Sport in the city - Tourism in Vitoria-Gasteiz
The city has athletes and teams that compete at the highest level. Our top sterilisation are: in football el Alavés, in basketball el Baskonia and el Araski, Martín Fiz in the marathon, Mikel Landa in cycling, Almudena Cid in rhythmic gymnastics, Jaione Ayastuy in sailing, Eneko Llanos in the triathlon, Juanito Oiarzabal in climbing or Diego Barrio in trialsín (pedal-bike trails).
Due to the high quality of its sports facilities, Vitoria-Gasteiz is the destination chosen by numerous international athletes and sports teams for their pre-season training and gatherings. For example, the facilities are used by the United States swimming team or the Australian triathlon team.
