Smart Tourism Destination (DTI)

Vitoria-Gasteiz is part of the Smart Tourism Destination Network, a management model shared with other municipalities in Spain and internationally. The model is based on the monitoring of 261 indicators linked to five pillars: governance, innovation, technology, sustainability, and accessibility.

With the coordination of the State Society for the Management of Information and Tourism Technologies (SEGITTUR), under the Secretariat of State for Tourism, and with the collaboration of the Basque Tourism Agency (Basquetour), Vitoria-Gasteiz achieved the Smart Tourism Destination designation in 2025, after exceeding 80% compliance with the methodology requirements.

Before becoming a full DTI, Vitoria-Gasteiz obtained certification as an Adhered DTI-Smart Tourism Destination in 2020 and 2023, following separate diagnostic processes and DTI action plans.

  • Vitoria-Gasteiz Strategic Tourism Plan 2025-2030: CastroConsulting Business Strategy, S.L. will be responsible for the work, with a five-month execution period.
