Local Agenda 21 - School Agenda 21
The School Agenda 21 is an educational project which, in the context of commitment to sustainable development, aims to bring the city to the classroom, offering the possibility to develop the local perspective and favour the involvement of the educational community in municipal life. This initiative has contributed to the progress of Vitoria-Gasteiz towards a model city and territory which is more respectful towards biodiversity and natural heritage; more efficient in resource consumption: water, energy, raw materials; less generative of waste; and much more cooperative and inhabitable.
In Vitoria-Gasteiz this initiative was carried out for the first time in the academic year 2001-2002, by the Environmental Studies Centre of the City Council.
