The Sport facilitiess
constituyen una de las señas de identidad de la ciudad.
Vitoria-Gasteiz has one of the largest numbers
of federated sportsmen and women. The city offers a wide range of sports
facilities: You can do rock climbing at the rockodrome, skate at the
velodrome or at the ice rink, play Basque "pelota" at one
of the frontons..... In most cases (such as the frontons, the ice rink,
the swimming pools, etc.), non-members can use sports facilities by
paying an entrance fee.
VG is well known for its Civic Centres.
These are public buildings equipped with social, cultural and sports
facilities. They contain games libraries, book libraries, record libraries,
video libraries and newspaper and periodical libraries, workshops,
classrooms, assembly halls and large sports courts, and five of them
have swimming pools. Today, the network consists of a total of 12 civic
centres distributed throughout the city. All of them offer visitors
the possibility of doing a variety of sports at an affordable price.
The city also has two large leisure and sports complexes - Mendizorroza and Gamarra-,
which will be remodelled shortly, following the guidelines of two
ambitious projects.
There are also a large number of sports clubs
including mountain walking, cycling, baseball, etc. If you wish
to do some sport during your stay here, you can get information by
