To Mendoza in order to visit its medieval tower.

To the monastery of Estíbaliz.

Part of an old monastery dating back to the 11th century, it offers splendid views of the surrounding countryside.

The parks of Garaio and Landa.

Garaio is only 15 km from Vitoria-Gasteiz. Access to the park is via the L-623, which joins the N1 Vitoria-Pamplona dual carriageway (exit Argómaniz-Ozaeta) and the N-104 (the old N1) to the village of Ozaeta. Near the village of Maturana there is a signposted turnoff indicating the entrance into Garaio Park. In summer, there is a regular bus service between Vitoria and the park.

In Garaio one can do a wide variety of activities, including cycling, hill walking, canoeing and sailing. The Mendixur Bird Observatory, which can be visited on foot or by bicycle, is very near the park.

The Provincial Park of Landa is situated to the North East of the Ullíbarri-Gamboa reservoir, near the village of Landa. Access can be had from the A-627 Vitoria-Gasteiz - Bergara Road, taking the Landa turnoff, from the A-3002 from Ullíbarri-Gamboa, or from the A-3014 where it passes through the village of Landa. The park occupies 40 hectares of land on the edge of the reservoir and, just like Garaio, has extensive areas which have been developed for swimming and all kinds of services (outdoor bars, picnic areas, toilets, showers, children's games, etc.).

There is a route for pedestrians and cyclists that runs right around the reservoir.

There is more information about these parks at www.alava.net/EmbalseUllibarri
