In the markets: Medieval market, the “almond” market in the historical quarter, the central market...
During the last weekend in September, the city
recalls its medieval market. Moreover, the first Saturday in each month,
there is a market in which shopkeepers of the streets of the old quarter
take part. This fair, which is known popularly as the "almond" market
due to the shape of the medieval quarter seen from above, brings together
the inhabitants of the city and the craftsmen and women who have their
workshops in the medieval quarter of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
In November, you can purchase top quality products at the foot market
that takes place in the municipal pavilion of Mendizorroza. And from
time to time, the Local Foods and Crafts Products Market is organised
in the Plaza del Matxete.
And every day, in the Central Market, located in the centre of the city,
you can find a great range of perishable foodstuffs offered by more than
40 specialist retailers.
